A postdoctoral position is available in the Plemper lab in the Center for Translational Antiviral Research at the Georgia State University Institute for Biomedical Sciences. The Plemper lab studies respiratory RNA viruses of the paramyxovirus, pneumovirus, and orthomyxovirus families. This position will investigate replication and pathogenesis of high-consequence paramyxoviruses in relevant ex vivo and in vivo model systems with the overarching objective to characterize and advance next-generation antiviral therapeutics.

We seek highly motivated applicants with a strong desire to advance basic scientific discoveries to translational use. A sound foundation in cell biology or molecular virology is required, prior experience in organoid culture models and/or animal models of viral pathogenesis would be a major strength.
