Research Associate I

We are a leading poxvirology research group focused on understanding how virus–host interactions shape immune responses. We are seeking a motivated and collaborative scientist with a background in cell biology, immunology, or virology to join our team.
Job Description:
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment and contribute to cutting-edge studies in viral immunology and host-pathogen interactions.
The successful candidate will:
- Perform and troubleshoot experiments using rigorous scientific approaches
- Contribute to ongoing research projects and data generation
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Assist with general laboratory management (~10% effort), including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and organizing inventory
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- B.S. or M.S. degree with ≥3 years of relevant research experience, OR
- Ph.D. with ≤3 years of postdoctoral experience in a related field
- Technical Skills:
- Mammalian cell culture
- Molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, PCR, Western blot, RNA biology)
- General Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluorescence microscopy
- Flow cytometry
- Proteomics approaches
- Animal handling (rabbit, rat, or mouse models)
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with education and research experience.
