The Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar. Under the direction of Assistant Professor Valerie Cortez, the postdoctoral scholar will contribute to a research program investigating the interplay of between early-life enteric virus infection and the development of oral tolerance.
Duties will include performing enteric virus research, contributing to lab management, and working as a team with graduate and undergraduate students. The selected candidate will be expected to stay current with the scientific literature in the field and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals. This position will require excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully work as a member of an inclusive, interdisciplinary research team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with flow cytometry, scRNA-seq, and/or animal models.
