Postdoctoral fellow

Position Summary

A position is currently available for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team in the area of virology and host-pathogen-vector interactions. The successful candidate will participate in innovative research aimed at understanding the molecular basis of host-pathogen-vector interactions and developing next-generation countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and optimize in vitro and animal studies related to virology and immunology.
• Perform vector competence studies.
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational approaches.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
• Mentor and train graduate students, and visiting scientists, as well as research technicians, in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators to advance ongoing research projects.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Virology, Immunology, vector biology, medical entomology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
• Extensive research experience in virology, vector biology, molecular biology, or immunology.
• Hands-on experience with virology, molecular, cellular, and immunological techniques and vector competence studies.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute independent research projects.
• Strong data analysis, scientific writing, and communication skills.
• A publication record in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in BSL3 practices.
• Previous experience mentoring students or supervising laboratory personnel.
